Notes & Reviews:

"I have had Jascha Heifetz's recording of the D-minor Sonata so deeply etched into my mind that I always compare other readings of the piece to his. The primary way that this reading differs from the Heifetz is that Wallin and Pontinen do not treat it as a virtuoso piece. They treat it like a classical sonata, which I now believe is the way it sounds best. I love the colors Pontinen gets on the piano. What a wonderful recording!" - Fine, American Record Guide
