Notes & Reviews:

This is by far the most comprehensive collection of this composer available. Harty was an Irish conductor and composer, who became conductor of the Halle orchestra and was famous, during his lifetime, for hisorchestral arrangements of movements from Handel's Water Music. "The Irish symphony has won great acclaim for its excellent scoring and good craftsmanship. It is extremely well played by the Ulster Orchestra under Bryden Thomson." - Penguin Guide
