In all her roles, Micheau was admired for the care, skill and taste with which she used her decidedly French vocal timbre. Her light voice was flexible, with a remarkably wide range and consistent and even production. Throughout her career of diverse stage appearances, Micheau was courted by record companies. She made several recordings with Roger Desormiere for Decca, most of which are included here.
