Notes & Reviews:

"This program alternates pieces for piano solo and piano with cello. But this is not a happy program. Liszt's last years were harmonically experimental and obsessed with the subject of death. Titles like 'Schlummerlied im Grabe', 'Am Grabe Richard Wagners' and 'Unstern! Sinistre, Disastro' give the general mood, even without translation. Immerseel and Istomin add an early music element... by using period instruments. If you want to depress yourself happily, try this program." ARG
