Rathaus: Symphony no 2 & 3 / Yinon, et al

Album Summary

>Rathaus, Karol : Symphony no 2, Op. 7
>Rathaus, Karol : Symphony no 3, Op. 50
Conductor Ensemble Composer

Notes & Reviews:

Karol Rathaus, a student a Franz Schreker, struggled to find his voice through Nazi oppression and general musical conservancy. Even his sweeping neo-romantic symphonies were considered too modern by some, and though he was a pioneer in German film scoring he struggled to be accepted in Hollywood. It is fortunate that his genius is appreciated today.
