Notes & Reviews:

"Killed in World War II, Walter Leigh didn't live long enough to fulfill his promise. His style combines English pastoralism with diatonic neoclassicism, and could be found somewhere on a scale from Vaughan Williams to Poulenc to Hindemith. The music is tuneful, unassuming, clean-lined, nicely crafted, and easy to enjoy - typically sprightly and cheerful or gently sentimental. Performances and sonics are ideal; I can't imagine better." - Lehman, American Record Guide
