Notes & Reviews:

Yoritsune Matsudaira, who passed in 2001, was one of the greatest Japanese composers of the 20th century. His compositions are of a style primarily based on the Gagaku, the ancient Japanese court music, into which Matsudaira integrates the avant-garde techniques of Stockhausen and Boulez.
