Notes & Reviews:

The collection of pieces on this CD gives an idea of Cellavenia's creative evolution. He started when composers such as Mouton and Gombert dominated the scene. He was also very much aware of composers working in Italy, the biggest influence being Costanzo Festa. Cellavenia clearly shows that his own approach had always been marked by northern influences, although his work remains essentially the product of Italian humanism.
