Notes & Reviews:
American composer John Cage's famous radio production entitled Roaratorio - An Irish Circus on Finnegans Wake was an international sensation following its premiere in 1979. Historians now consider this composition to be one of the key works of the 20th century. On it, Cage's experiences with music and poetry, oral recitation and tape montage, and his close association with Zen Buddhism, are combined to create what can be best described as an all-inclusive musical cosmology. This reissue from Wergo is offered as part of the label's ongoing celebration of the centenary of Cage's birth.
