Notes & Reviews:

Carl Schuricht conducted various provincial German orchestras until 1944, when he fled the Nazis and took up residence in Switzerland. He was considered one of the most distinguished representatives of the German school of conducting and was noted for his musical intelligence and, especially, his ability to transmit his understanding of a work directly to the players in his orchestra. His unmannered performances were praised for their warmth and attention to detail.
