Notes & Reviews:

The first recording of music by Hans Rott caused a critical sensation. Here was strong, vivid, imaginative music written by a composer almost nobody had ever heard of, whose name was not even mentioned in the most comprehensive history of Viennese music, yet who had been the favorite pupil of Anton Bruckner, and had been praised by, and had even influenced, Gustav Mahler.
