Notes & Reviews:

First performed in 1938, Dyson's 'Symphony' had to wait until the 1990's to achieve the recognition it deserves as one of the finest 20th century British symphonies. Though this work opens and closes with pageantry reminiscent of Dyson's choral works, it is also filled with enigmatic beauty and brilliant orchestral effects.
