Notes & Reviews:

Friedrich Witt fell into relative obscurity because he had the misfortune to compose at the same time as Beethoven and in a style that fell out of favor before he died in 1836. Witt composed 23 symphonies, all in a conventional style for the time. He also used percussion instruments liberally in his symphonic work.
