Notes & Reviews:

Violinist Silvie Hessová graduated from the Prague Conservatory. She was first violinist of the Eberle Quartet and now holds that same position with the Prague Philharmonic Quartet and has appeared as a soloist with various orchestras and performed at festivals throughout Europe.

American Record Guide, November/December 2013
I really enjoy this intense and personal reading of the Janacek Sonata. Weisner's piano solos in the Dvorak are beautiful and evocative, and I love the way he and Hessova interact with one another musically, particularly in the Dvorak. Their readings of Josef Suk's often-played miniatures are whimsical, imaginative, and impulsive; and they project the forward-looking spirit of the music perfectly. Both Hessova and Weisner graduated from the Prague Conservatory in 1989, and this is a reissue of a recording that Cube Bohemia released in 2005, when Hessova was the leader of the Prague Philharmonic Quartet and had just joined the faculty of the Conservatory.
