Notes & Reviews:

American pianist John Browning was a pupil of Josef and Rosina Lhevinne and one of the most brilliant virtuosi of his generation. He is perhaps best celebrated for his championship of Samuel Barber's piano sonata as well as the concerto, which Barber wrote for him. He was the first pianist to record the cycle of all five Prokofiev concertos.
