Notes & Reviews:

It was not unusual for virtuoso timpanists of the 18th century to perform on up to 16 drums, of the style used for this recording. This recording including what is widely considered to be the first timpani concerto, Johann Fischer's 'Symphony with Four Pairs of obbligato timpani'. Master Timpanist Alexander Peter tackles the complex and demanding works on this disc with authentic technique and virtuosic flair.
