Rooted in the folk traditions of his native Burgos, Jose's compositions reveal refined orchestration, color and atmosphere characteristic of French impressionism. The evocative 'Sinfonia Castellana' is composed in a late-Romantic idiom with touches of Debussy, and uses traditional Burgos folk songs in Jose's personal, distinctive style.
