"These are quite lovely and relaxed performances of the early music persuasion of some enjoyable chamber music by JS Bach's most famous son. The trio sonatas are dates 1749 and 1755. The first is played by two violins and continuo harpsichord and cello, the second by bass recorder (!), viola, and continuo The early trio sonata is particularly interesting I can't recall hearing it beforeThere have been good performances of the quartets before, but this group has a verve and poetry that make these recordings welcome."
