Notes & Reviews:

"Both pianists have merits and are worth attentive hearing. The considerable differences between Roge and Tan are almost clear enough to suggest they are playing two different composers. Well, maybe that's an exaggeration, but this is the genius of Debussy's music. Roge's magnificent technical command allows his uncanny sense of gesture to appear effortless, without self-consciousness, and so right. Melodies are shaped beautifully, and atmospheres are fully of subtlety. To generalize about Tan, his sound is somehow more "present", more direct. It's not subtle or elusive. While displaying a good lyrical sense, he doesn't balance chords with the same finesse as Roge. His pedaling is not as controlled; nor is his technique as well-honed. But he has a strong imagination and is capable of apt characterizations." Barela, American Record Guide
