Pavlova was born and trained in Russia before moving to New York in 1990, where she is an active composer in the areas of film, dance and theatre. The composer explains that her Symphony No. 2 represents the necessity of human striving towards light and love, no matter how tragic the reality may be. Her Symphonies Nos. 1 & 3 are available on Naxos 8557157.
