Notes & Reviews:

As Principal Conductor, Bernard Haitink presided over some of the London Philharmonic Orchestras most memorable and exciting years in the 1970s. LPO presents live accounts of great British music by Elgar and Britten from the late 70s and early 80s. One of the most ardent of supporters for British music, Haitink is the driving force behind this wonderful interpretation of Our Hunting Fathers, sung by Heather Harper. It is a wonderful combination of Audens poetry, Brittens music and Heather Harpers extraordinary vocal agility and incisiveness.
