Notes & Reviews:

Osvaldas Balakauskas is a true leader in modern Lithuanian composition, and his Symphonies are among his most important, inventive and refined works. Symphony No. 4 includes elements of both early and modern music, with a tinge of jazz syncopation. Symphony No. 5 has a common theme throughout, marked by big-band style outbursts.
