Notes & Reviews:
From the first bars, the lions claws wrote Eigel Kruttge (Deputy Director, Cologne Radio) after Klemperers first rehearsal on February 6, 1954. Here at last is the first major series devoted to Otto Klemperers sensational live Cologne performances from the mid 1950s. This 1st volume dedicated to Klemperer in Cologne features concerts with the Cologne Radio Symphony Orchestra and includes performances of two of Beethovens symphonies. Collectors will enjoy the rare chance to hear Klemperer conducting the Brahms Piano Concerto No.2 with Gza Anda as well as the Hindemith Nobilissima Visione.
