Originally released in 2005, BACK IN TIME marks the reunion of revered downtown avant-garde guitarist James Blood Ulmer with his Odyssey band, Charles Burnham on violin and Warren Benbow on drums. Blending funk, free jazz harmolodics, blues, and world accents, with an off-kilter spiritualism, BACK IN TIME is one of the finest examples of Ulmer's eclectic, visionary, and deeply personal approach to music making. The album was reissued on Pi in 2007.
