Notes & Reviews:

Lumbye is regarded as the Danish Johann Strauss as his music possesses a similar heady mixture of irresistible melodies and infectious dance rhythms, from lilting waltzes to dashing polkas. Rozhdestvensky conducts this music with both warmth and sparkle, and the disc received excellent critical acclaim when first released. The program is made available here at mid-price.
