Conductor Sir Charles Mackerras, one of the greatest authorities on Czech music and still a very active musician, will celebrate his 80th birthday on November 17th, 2005. In his honor, Supraphon is re-releasing the album of Dvoraks Slavonic Dances, which he recorded with the Czech Philharmonic in Pragues Rudolfinum concert hall in 1999.
