Notes & Reviews:

These are historic recordings made 1950-1958 by conductor Carl Schuricht who was a supreme interpreter of German late Romanticism whose roots were found in the works of classical masters Haydn and Mozart. Long before the 'historic performance practice' trend come into vogue, Schuricht crafted perfectly controlled and balanced performances, allowing the genius of these Haydn masterworks to be experienced without excess or artifice.
