Notes & Reviews:

This intriguing compilation of pieces contains works from the early stages of each composer's life. In his later years, Mahler destroyed all of his work from his youth, and this Piano Quartet was one of the few samples that escaped the fire. As well, Zemlinsky's Trio, Op. 3 was recommended by Brahms to his publisher, something that Brahms rarely did.
