Conductor Ensemble Composer

Notes & Reviews:

"... Munch uses little things that are not heard in other places, like the fast, subtle vibrato heard in the trombones while playing the 'Dies Irae.' The instruments are all encouraged to make the most of their natural colors, and the contrasts here are surely something that Berlioz would have reveled in. At midprice (like all Living Stereo SACD releases), this must count as one of the bargains of our new century. So is this the best 'Fantastique' ever recorded? Well, yes - at least if such a thing is possible." -Ritter, ARG
