Notes & Reviews:

Traditionally the organ is a church instrument, but the pieces for organ gathered on this recording are all inspired by melodic and rhythmic elements coming from the music of cultivated or popular origins. Each of the works employs glosses and ornamental playing, often adopted from the French models, to enhance melodic materials. The composers represented mark the high points of Hispanic organ music from the 16th through the 18th centuries.
