Notes & Reviews:
Brothers Manuel and Josep Pla lived between 1725 and 1766. While both achieved international renown as oboists, they composed many works for the Catholic church. Their music shows the influence of European trends of the time.

Both soloists (Raquel Andueza, s, and Pau Bordas, b) are excellent interpreters of this florid, almost operatic style of church music; and Olivia Centurioni along with the musicians of the orchestra supply a subtle and stylish accompaniment. With the exception of the booklet, which is very informative but lacks translations, this is a very satisfying release of unfamiliar repertoire.
