Notes & Reviews:
Up to 50 years ago the knowledge of Ottorino Respighi 's music was essentially limited to the three famous roman symphonic poems. The Chamber production was almost unknown , and the very beautiful recordings of the "Quarttetto Dorico" and "Il Tramonto", poem for voice and string quartet realized by Barylli in 1960; were a sensational news in the general conformist music background. To make this record even more precious is the presence of an extraordinary artist: Sena Juriac; at that time she was at the top of her artistic career. The great Austro - Croatian soprano died in 2011, and this CD would be also a tribute to her art. A touching of the "Lauda per la natività del Signore"the version directed in 1961 by Nino Antonellini with Rome RAI groups ends this cd.
