Notes & Reviews:

The Trio Fontane is a group of young Swiss musicians who founded the ensemble in 2002 at the Zurich Music Academy. In 2007 the ensemble was recognized as the best piano trio at the Migros Kulturprozent chamber music competition and has gone on the concertize on chamber music series, summer festivals and radio.

American Record Guide, September/October 2013
The Trio Fontane's performance is tasteful and touching. The heartbreaking unaccompanied violin that opens the work is played. When joined by the cello's equally passionate counter-melody, they establish an atmosphere that remains consistent all through the performance. The piano, which is often virtuosic and orchestral, sounds full and rich. Trio Fontane plays Beethoven's trio with dramatic tension and classical restraint. It's performed well. This is an exceptional recording.
