Notes & Reviews:

These two CDs are comprised of the complete concert of October 11, 1977 at Kaufman Auditorium-92nd Street Y including comments by Erick Freidman as well as an interview/concert on WQXR Radio, September 27, 1977.

American Record Guide, January/February 2014
The recording of the concert is excellent, particularly the reading of the Beethoven. Friedman has a wonderful mixture of no-nonsense, light sentimentality, and straight-ahead playing, a very strong technique, and a lot of musical intelligence. Of the pair Reisenberg is the one with the extraordinary concept of sound, particularly in II of the Strauss Sonata, where the strings of right-hand notes that come about halfway through sound like strings of musical pearls. It's wonderful to hear both. I enjoyed the interview almost as much as the playing.
