Notes & Reviews:

"The cello music of the two greatest pianist-composers of the 19th century makes a curiously satisfying program, played here in a notable suave and relaxed manner. The Fischer Duo has been around for a long time and they still make a most sophisticated impression. That is, perhaps, not quite what we expect from the lively and outgoing Chopin pieces, but it works nonetheless. The late works of Liszt benefit from the smooth approach, and in both composers the warmth of the tone and smooth phrasing bring out a feeling of humanity that is good to hear. This combination of composers is not common in the cello repertoire, though it makes perfect sense and fits nicely on a CD. The pieces and composers are programmed together effectively. Altogether, this is a fine release." -American Record Guide
