Notes & Reviews:

"This collection of music for strings by 'Fanfare' new music critic Robert Carl is of quite a different nature than what appeared on his earlier Innova release (N/D 2004). It appears that something strongly affected Mr. Carl emotionally and spiritually in the late 90s, and as a result these pieces exhibit a depth of expression not apparent on the previous set... Carl seems to have set aside the 'Totalist' excesses that muddied his previous release and replaced them with a more consistently convincing voice. He states in a note that he has embraced the idea of 'engaging in dialog with tradition' in order to 'produce a more synthetic and personal language that has something to say to the repertoire that's both respectful and challenging.' I think he does that, and I look forward to hearing where this leads in his future work. Performances by Carl's Hartt College colleagues are impressive." -American Record Guide
