Notes & Reviews:
Sussmayr's opera "Der Spiegel von Arkadian" was arranged by composer Johann Nepomuk Wendt for wind ensemble for use as "filler" during his own concerts. Wendt routinely took music from popular operas of his day like "The Magic Flute," "The Abduction of the Seraglio," and "Don Giovanni" and arranged it for open air concerts. This was a common practice in 18th Century Vienna. The Consortium Classicum has been performing since the early sixties in Germany and the rest of Europe. The members are all soloists, teachers or members of major German orchestras.
