Lehar: / Der Graf Von Luxemburg / Alfred Eschwe / Radio-Symphony Orchestra [DVD]

Album Summary

>Lehár, Franz : Der Graf von Luxemburg
Performers Conductor Ensemble Composer

Notes & Reviews:

It is wonderful and perfectly fitting that a work by Maestro Lehr should be the first DVD production in the cpo catalogue: 'Der Graf von Luxemburg' (The Count of Luxembourg) in a lavishly beautiful live recording from last year's Klangbogen Festival in Vienna at the Theater an der Wien with Bo Skovhus, Juliane Banse, Rainer Trost, and Gabriele Bone in the lead roles. The label had originally planned an audio recording only, but then the staging and new version of the text by Michael Schottenberg proved to be so impressive not only to the ear but also to the eye and so thoroughly successful that a camera team was hired on short notice - so that you can now enjoy the visual fireworks together with 5.1 surround sound.
