Notes & Reviews:

This disc features Leonard Bernstein conducting masterworks by Gustav Mahler from the Grosser Musikvereinssaal in Wien and the Mann Auditorium in Tel Aviv. Among the performances is one from Vienna that took place only months before Berstein's death. He led Thomas Hampson and the Wiener Philharmoniker in three of Mahler's masterworks: the "Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen," the "Ruckertlieder" and the "Kindertotenlieder."
