Notes & Reviews:

Enrique Sanchez Lansch, perhaps best known as the director of 'Rhythm is it!', explores new avenues in his two-part music documentary, using the various generations of musicians that make up an orchestra to illuminate Rachmaninoff's works. If 'The Bells' traces the development of human life through a succession of jingle bells, wedding bells, alarm bells and knells, then the work can also be interpreted as symbolic of the various ages represented in an orchestral unit.
