Notes & Reviews:
Boris Asafiev's 'The Flames of Paris', which is set in the midst of the French Revolution, appropriately premiered in 1932 on the eve of the anniversary of the October Revolution, featuring a hero that up to the time of its premier had not been featured in ballet - the populace, revolutionary in mood and ready for action. Choreographer Axexi Ratmanky has attempted to make maximum use of the original choreography by Vasily Vainonen. The most talented soloists of the Bolshoi Ballet appear in this production, including Natalia Osipova, Ivan Vasiliev, Denis Savin, and Anna Antonicheva. The Bolshoi Theatre is conducted by Pavel Sorokin.Notes & Reviews:
