Notes & Reviews:
"Art shouldn't just sit around on its ass in museums." Claes Oldenburg's images of consumerism, executed in disorienting materials, dimensions and environments, made him a key figure in pop art. Today, his large sculptures are modern monuments which have made this artist famous far beyond the art world. In this film, Gerald Fox accompanies Oldenburg during the construction of one of his large-scale projects. Artists like Roy Lichtenstein give additional glimpses into his multi-faceted world.
