Notes & Reviews:

This material represents some of the earliest televised concerts with the Boston Symphony Orchestra and conductor Erich Leinsdorf. These early recordings have been restored with greatest care to preserve the exceptional musical interest and rare historical value. Powerful and precise, Leinsdorf's performances are the perfect addition to ICA's specialty Legacy Collection.

Best of all, I found the version of the Friday Music from Parsifal Santo , which makes clear Leinsdorf its high degree of knowledge of Wagner and his great sense of drama as an opera, plus get a anthological interpretations of the piece. The images are of 1962 (Schumann), 1963 (Schubert) and 1964 (Wagner), and the sound is more than acceptable. Highly recommended for collectors and those interested in the history of management.

All this is admirable, and I really do admire it. This DVD, then gives a very truthful picture of Leinsdorf. It reveals his very considerable strengths...
