Notes & Reviews:
William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet has inspired many choreographers around the world but this version from Sébastien Lefrançois is maybe the most unusual. The French artist tried to find a new and modern perspective on this classical drama and with Hip Hop Dance he found an intoxicating way to express the protagonists’ inner conflicts. The dancers concentrated on the psychic aspects of the drama and together with music from Laurent Couson this production offers an intense and refreshing new version of Romeo and Juliet.
