EuroArts' "Claudio Abbado: New Year's Eve" is a three-disc double celebration of both the late maestro and the annual ritual of the Berlin Philharmonic's New Year's concerts, here highlighting consecutive festivities from 1996-98. New Year's 1996 - Dances and Gypsy Tunes features Russian virtuoso violinist Maxim Vengerov, New Year's 1997 - A Tribute to Carmen, starred Anne Sofie von Otter, Bryn Terfel and Roberto Alagna, among others, and New Year's 1998 - Songs of Love and Desire, starred Christine Schäfer, Simon Keenlyside, Marcelo Álvarez and legendary Italian Primadonna Mirella Freni.
