Notes & Reviews:
The common thread between the three operas featured here, other than their composer, W.A. Mozart, is their librettist, Lorenzo Da Ponte. The Venetian poet and priest wrote librettos for 28 operas by 11 composers, but the most famous remain the three for Mozart, Don Giovanni, The Marriage of Figar, and Cosi fan tutte. These operas are live performances from the Zurich Opera House, all staged by legendary director Jurgen Flimm. This release is an homage to the memory of one of the greatest musicians of the 20th and 21st century, Nikolaus Harnoncourt.Notes & Reviews:
