Notes & Reviews:

The most original, offbeat piano recital returns with live performances from the 2004 Husum Festival, the only place where you'll hear Chopin followed by music by the Italian avant-garde composer Salvatore Sciarrino. This series, which began in 1989, presents precisely what the audience hears during the eight evenings of the Festival. The best and most interesting performances are then selected for this CD. Apart from the mixture of novel pieces and familiar classics, the Festival allows such established artists as Marc-Andre Hamelin to be heard in the company of up-and-coming personalities such as Edna Stern from Belgium and Elena Kuschnerova.
