Album Summary
Bach, Johann Sebastian : Sonata for Violin solo no 3 in C major, BWV 1005
Beethoven, Ludwig van : Concerto for Violin in D major, Op. 61
Adolf Busch (Violin)
Notes & Reviews:
Here we have Busch's legendary interpretations, accompanied by his brother on the podium, in a recording that was one of the first sessions produced by Goddard Lieberson. The Bach Sonata was recorded three months after the Concerto. The original 78 rpm set was short-lived, due to the shellac shortage after America's entry into the Second World War. As with the Beethoven, his interpretation of the Bach is a colossal achievement.
