Notes & Reviews:

In 1982, for the first time in history, the Vienna Opera Ball, so rich in tradition, lent its name to an orchestra. The Vienna Opera Ball Orchestra was founded in order to perform 18th and 19th century Viennese dance music both at home and abroad. In cooperation with the Vienna State Orchestra, it also presents singers and dancers in concert in order to recreate the mood of the time when this music was new. The Orchestra's performances have been highly praised by both audiences and critics alike. Under their beloved current director, Professor Franz Bauer-Theussl, this recording features music-making full of delights and authentic Viennese charm.
