Album Summary
Performer
Carlos Bernal (Guitar)
Notes & Reviews:
Mexican guitarist Carlos Bernal has led an active career as a performer, having appeared in more than fifteen countries. A winner of the Artists International Competition in New York City, he has played at Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall and Lincoln Center's Bruno Walter Auditorium. A passionate advocate of contemporary music, his concert programs reflect his affinity with the composers' search for originality and true precision. This new release sums up perfectly his affinity for modern works, beginning with the Sonata by his famed fellow countryman Ponce, along with Tippett's piece which was composed for Julian Bream, the rarely heard Sonata by Cyril Scott and the 'Libra Sonatine' by French composer/guitarist Roland Dyens.
